The cosmetology program is divided into two categories, i.e., foundation course and advanced course. Topics covered in the foundation course includes hair science, hair cut, shampoo and conditioning, grooming for hair stylists, hair treatments, salon etiquette etc. Topics covered in the advanced course include classic haircuts, anatomy and physiology of skin, chemical services of hair like perming and straightening, advanced makeup, nail art etc.
Job opportunities of a cosmetologist range from a regular hairstylist to an expert makeup artist and beauty therapist. After completing cosmetology course, you can work as a manicurist, pedicurist, skin consultant, makeup artist, hairdresser, beauty consultant, or spa therapist.
